Eddie Jensen

During the days of the Gladstone Y-BMX Track and the early days of Riverside Park BMX, there were few riders that could keep up with Eddie Jensen. Jensen was a natural on a bike and he rode motorcycles in his spare time which helped him throw his bike into lines that nobody thought would hold as he swooped past the competition. Jensen was also one of the first Oregon riders to turn Pro.

During the numerous nationals that Riverside Park BMX hosted, he could always be found in the Pro mains running against legends like Clarence Perry, Brent Patterson, Stu Thomsen and Greg Hill. Though he ran as a privateer in for much of his racing career, Jensen rode for the dominate Bike Gallery Team in the early 1980s.

Jensen and the original Sunnyside Road gang had a practice track where Clackamas Town Center now sits and spent countless hours on bikes and motorcycles at the site. Another favorite training ride was to go to the "Top Of Scott" golf course and ride the fairways, greens and traps all the way back to Sunnyside Road. In those days, the golf course stretched all the way from the top of the mountain to present day Sunnyside Road. Fast Eddie, as he was known, left BMX in the mid 1980s.
