Troy Ewers

In the early 1980s, there was no faster or more consistent amateur in the Northwest than Troy Ewers. Ewers was part of the Oregon Skate & Bike team that remained focused on two things, winning races, and accumulating points for low number district plates. From Arizona to Canada, Troy and his dad Bill, could be found rushing between tracks on every day of the week during the summer months. It was not uncommon to drive all the way to Yakima, Washington on a Tuesday night for the 50 points a win would bring.

After capturing the #2 plate in the highly competitive OR-01 district and capping off a year that saw him on the podium in every national he ran, Ewers hung up his bike and walked away from the sport.

In 1999, Troy returned to BMX and began his comeback season that saw him run among the leaders in 31-35 Cruiser all year long. It won't be long before Troy's kids are trying out their Dad's sport. These days Troy still makes occasional appearances at tracks all over the West coast.

Troy Ewers works for UPS in Portland, Oregon and lives in Vancouver, Washington  He has two children.
